Ciao~ Discovery of Rome, Italy - Episode 1

15th July 2011
Arrived Ciampino Airport at 4pm by flying with Ryanair which made us headache with their flight services though I know it is a budget flights. I rather pay more next time if possible!!! We took a bus to the center of Rome followed by Metro to search for our hotel... We drag our exhausted body to search for the way to the Hotel St. Paul and finally we get to take our rest earlier for charging our energy to prepare for the next day trip! GO Rome~

16th July 2011
The breakfast in Hotel St. Paul was totally worth a penny especially those cold cuts Parma Ham which are my love!!! Then we get up to the signature of Rome, the Colosseum also known as "Coliseum" which is the biggest and most imposing in the Roman world, and also the greatest works of Rome's Architecture. You couldn't miss out this amazing UNESCO world heritage even if it has to cost you 12euro per person.. You will be attracted by this absolute impressive thing!! I'm serious~

Beside the Colosseum, you may also see The Arch of Constantine which this triumphal arch was erected to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge on October 28, 312. There is also a hill that call Palatine or "Palatino" situated just beside the Colosseum and the Arch. Even if you think there has nothing to see inside the Palatino but just some destroyed stones, I still recommend you walk around to experience it...It may not that impressive as the Colosseum does, but it is still part of the Roman's history... You should feel the heritage of Rome there~
The Rome's view from the hill of Palatino.

When the day is still bright with clear blue sky, visiting the Trevi Fountain will be a good choice but it will be even better if there isn't too crowded with too many tourists.. It's summer holiday tho! However, the fountain is a true wonder, a jewel of water and stone that is nestled between the palaces of the historic centre of the city. With the exception of those annoying crowd, this fantastic work of arts made you felt like it is the scene of heaven with the ever-mutating and incredible power of falling water that could ever took your breath away! While enjoying this breath-taking art work, don't forget to make a wish by throwing a coin into the water... It is said that if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the water, you will be sure to return to Rome. However I prefer the Roman's art work can make my dream come true instead of the returning~ XD
I've still made a wish for myself even if it's believed to have a return to Rome...

We also grabbed the Italian's ice cream which I can truly say the italian's ice cream is always the best ice cream ever with natural fruit favour! Eating the best ice cream in the world while walking around the Rome's streets will be a great experience... I'm sure you won't be regret even if the ice cream cost you a litter more!! After a few walks, we step into the Palazzo del Quirinale where is the home of the President of Italy and that's why you will see some soldiers marching inside and standing quietly at every single entrance...yea~ that's cool indeed! Besides, the most eyes catching thing in this place will be the Dioscuri Fountain that features 5.5-meter-tall (18ft) sculptures of Castor and Pollux as horse tamers and another 14-meter-tall (46ft) central obelisk once held a place of honor at the entrance to the mausoleum of Augustus..

As you can see, I'm still enjoying my ice cream under the Dioscuri Fountain.

If you have some free time, you should walk nearby the Trevi Fontana to see the building of Rome with a lot of interesting work of art like Medusa on the entrance door, the figures of the four fountains that represent the River Tiber and etc. Due to the day of summer is longer than night in Europe, we had no enough energy to wait until the dark night to see the night view of Trevi Fountain. It should be very nice with the light on. Since a whole day walking was really tiring, we supposed to have enough rest for the next day~

stay tuned for my next post of the Rome discovery......

Therefore, we planned to go for a break before rushing for the other two more assignments which due on May...
The place we would go was called Seaburn which is the suburb of Sunderland where the place has beautiful seaside promenades, an amusement park, a lot of fish and chips shop, small guest houses and so on...It is a nice place to go I should say....Especially having fun in such spring weather instead of freaking hot day!
As you can see our photos look really nice under such sunny days!!!

London's Christmas, London's Fireworks

Hiya London!!

I were being there for 9 days to have my chillax Christmas and 2011 New Year celebration..
The purpose of staying there for such a long time for sure to explore their Boxing Day culture and experience my first life ever celebrating New Year at London~ Eye...
Imagine I posted every schedule for our 9 days trip!!! =,= I'm sure my post will be burst!
So, I will just let my picture to talk since it's the best way which you don't expect to read a bunch of words right...^^
I posted some pictures where some attraction that some people wouldn't know...

In general, most of the people know London's attraction would be Big Ben, London Bridge, British Museum, Buckingham Palace and etc...Instead of talking these places that people already familiar with, I prefer to show some nice markets and some nice places in briefly..

St. Pancreas is behind me..where a place that has an awesome architecture of building to discover..And my first sight on it was " jaw dropping"~

Oxford Street and Regent Street...These streets are linked and they are girl's shopping HEAVEN!! Branded? Fast Fashion Brand? Everything are here!

A random church nearby Kingcross where I think it has amazing door!!

26th of December, I met my bestie Maple in front of Burberry shop...After having a blast shopping with her, we went to China Town to have our first meal, it's our dinner tho~ XD
China Town, wherever it is...It's the best food heaven!
Had our Dinner at Four Season, China Town.

27th of December, Harrods (considered as luxury shopping departments) was having their sales too....I strongly recommend this as it is really a British way to shop...Everything inside is well-decorated included their washrooms~ I just can say...I will go Harrods AGAIN!

As both of us want to take picture with Harrods, but the angle wasn't that perfect...Waste~

Simultaneously, you MUST NOT miss out the "English Afternoon Tea" in Harrods~
As I've just mentioned, Harrods are considered as a luxury place, so you've to expect the spending on the Afternoon Tea....Anyhow, it's a good try right! The place with nice environment, nice service, nice food, nice pianist...I'm sure you'll feel comfortable there while having your tea-time...

Tea-Time at Harrods...

Michael Jackson in Harrods!!!

Awww~ Giant Teddy!! Zoom in to see the price~ ^o^

We spent the whole day in Harrods from 10am to 7pm!! omg~ Then me and my friend decided to walk back from Harrods to our Hostel where located at Russel Square...haha~ I know we were crazy walking down the street like that while winter! LOLx...
However, it was a good decision that we've made because we found a place while on the way which was really surprising....

I didn't know what was the statue behind but this is not the main point..XD

Tadah~ We saw Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park where it is a fun fair opened for Chritmas Celebration...It's amazing out there...^^

On 29th December, we decided to shop in the market instead of those outlets or departments...
In my opinion, Covert Garden is a very best place to look up and the market brings different feeling compare to others...There have lot of shops and foods, I just simply like it~

Day~

Night!

30th December, we went to Spitalfield Market...You love vintage?! Then there will be a great place for you!!!

Vintage oh Vintage~ I took this picture because I like the "ah ma" mannequin~ haha!

There's a lot of place or street you can walk around there...But the market in Spitalfield closed at 4pm~ =,= It's kinda early I know...But there are still shops outside where basically they're selling vintage clothes, vintage fashion and everything is in VINTAGE!

After that, we walked along Bank Street then St. Paul...
St. Paul is one of the attraction destination in London as well...This cathedral has a fascinating history and it looks awesome with inspiring interior and features...

St. Paul~

Part of St.Paul behind us~

31st Dec - 1st Jan, 2011
Big Ben~ Here I come!!
We were there to have our New Year Celebration at London Eye and Big Ben..

The place is flooded with crowd start from 6pm!!
Seriously, it was a very good experience on having count down in front of London Eye, and besides Big Ben... However, this will be my first time ever and will be my last time as well!!
Why?? Read through....
I reached there at 7pm++..
We suppose to find some place to sit down and planned to enjoy our dinner...Unfortunately, the cafes or restaurant nearby are all close...Left only two cafes, one Tesco!
Everyone were fighting to buy thing in Tesco so that to grab something to eat, and as you can imaging there had super long queue in front of those two cafes...
Then, we only noticed that they limit amount of people to get in the place to see fireworks nearby Big Ben and London Eyes...That's why everyone was preparing and waited there from 6pm!

At last, we have no clue about that so we bought some food and drinks from Tesco and started to wait for the time to pass by....
We started our waiting from 8pm..
Used 1 hours 30 minutes to queue for Toilet after that!!!

Queuing for toilet....take me 1hr30mins!!!wtf~

Taking picture with london eyes...

Seriously, this event full of foreigners but not local people...As I think the Brits wouldn't choose to be so stupid for waiting several hours to see 10mins fireworks....We did that tho~! LOLx..
Waiting for 4 hr in such freezing weather surrounded by different people especially those black skin one....Thus, it was a tough period...LOLx~

And finally, left 5 mins to 12!!!

London Boxing Day's items grab!!

holla~
I've just back from London today since I departed on 24th of December..
Photos of London will be uploaded soon once I've receive all those photos from my friend... ^^

Well, the purpose of posting this article is to show what I'd bought from London for their December HUGE sale which they call it as Boxing Day (26th Dec)...
What I mean about HUGE sale would be most of the shops will have about 50-70% discount for selected items include luxury goods such as Burberry, Alexandra Wang, Armani, Gucci, Prada and etc are all on sale...

However, you will need some luck and fate with the items that you wish for..Because, there will have heavy crowd to grab things that they want, they grab items just like fighting.. It's a very crazy scene actually!!

I actually went there to gain experience, to explore how Boxing Day looks like...For me, I promise I will never go for 2nd times again!!! It was really crowded and the whole street full of people especially ASIAN!! And, some of my friends started their queue at 7am to wait for the store to open at 10am...Once the door open, that's the nightmare started! See video posted below on Boxing Day, probably this kind of scene will happen in Selfridge Department in Oxford Street, London...But I didn't go there for queuing.. haha~ Because I prefer to have more sleep than grabbing those goods...LOLx

That's the Boxing Day looks like~ Fight for sale items, once finish, it's finished!! That's why I say you must need to have some luck...LOLx

Well, I didn't grab anything on the 26th (the exact Boxing Day) because the crowd really blew my mood off..:( It's still a very good experience tho~

So, most of the thing that I bought were after the Boxing Day.. Properly grab things from Harrods (where a very famous shopping center) and Knightbridge Street and some famous market in London....

Items in the picture: Mulberry Margaret Shoulder Bag, 2 pieces of Urban Oufitters clothes, a blazer from Public Beware, Zara Small Shoulder Bag, Skin care from Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetic.
p/s: Sorry about I couldn't show you what's inside the Burberry paper bag because that's my BF's present..haha~

I found this bag coincidentally in Harrods since I was very disappointed when I couldn't find anything that I like for the whole day besides this... This bright colour shoulder bag has brighten my day actually.. :)

It has 2nd and 4th choices in the store that time, and I chose to buy the 4th one which is in plum colour that I felt in love on it at the first sight!!

The Mulberry Margaret Bag is named after the Princess Margaret as a tribute. The metal in front with the words " We Believe in Tea and Cake". Great plum colour and a classic timeless go-anywhere design is perfectly my choice~ After discount it's £360+ and it was £550++.

Next, I would like to recommend the Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetic which their ingredient are all natural and without preservation!! They have very special product's usage such as facial serum in Bar Soap size!! I really like this shops and the fresh natural smells of them~ Therefore, I bought their absolute great mask after I tried it on my hand, I'm in love with it!! And I also bought their freshly toner and scrub-like cleanser which both of these are perfectly match with their mask!!

Love Lettuce Mask that I bought and you have to keep it in the fridge and used within 4 weeks of manufacture because it does NOT contain any preservation~ And it's really make my skin feel very comfortable after using this..I really love it!! well worth~!!!

After that, the most important shop that I want to recommend is the Public Beware shops!! Damn~ Their clothes designs are so much different with others...There is only a shop locates just nearby Liverpool Old Spitalfield Market...I bought a blazer which is grey in colours with stripe, the pattern is shown as below.

£40+ after discount, was £61

There is also a London's must shop store that name Urban Outfitters which is also British's brand..They have several branches in London, and I grab them in Covert Garden Market's store...Sale items that I bought are all half price!!! Cool~ £30 each, was £60 each!!!

Simple basic clothes which can easily match with different ideas...

Eventually, London would be a nice place to shop but sometimes, shopping still needs some luck and fate to see and grab what you want and like...

I wish yall have an awesome shopping spree for the new year!!!

The first trip in UK

12th Nov 2010

Well, you'll not be surprise that I've neglected my blog for such a long time...But anyway, I've got something to share already! hohoho~

I've been in Newcastle for more than 2 months, and this is the first trip that I go with my new friends to Hull and York...
It's a very nice trip with them, even though we don't really have enough time to visit the city...
At least, we visited some tho~ :D
Let's start to travel to Hull and York!!

It took us around 1+ hour to reach Hull by train, and we went to "The Deep Aquarium." http://www.thedeep.co.uk/
To be honest, the website is a little too exaggerate, it's not that cool or nice instead... That's why it turns up a little not worthy for us to travel to Hull purposely... However, we still have some nice pictures for that...XD

With hong kong babies~

All of us...

Starfish staring on us!

Big Tank

Main Entrance

After that, we took another 45 minutes to reach York where a place that full of ghost stories in their history... We've checked in to our hostel (ACE), then headed to have dinner in a Italian Restaurant... Surprisingly, I saw Malaysia's flag was hanging with other countries' flags such as Australia, UK, US, Germany and so on...The main point is, Malaysia was the only Asia's flag there! Malaysia "boleh" nya~

The environment is nice right...

Can you spotted the Malaysia's Flag on the ceiling?

Full with rich food!!

Before we went back to our hostel, we'd taken some pictures with York's must-see-attraction..

The Clifford's Tower stands as a proud symbol of the power of England's medieval kings.

13th Nov 2010

The next day, was the time for us to rock in York...Basically, we went to the city center by walking and, we love York very much.. For ladies that born to love shopping, York is always the best choice to shop...We went to Mulberry outlet for our first destination..

We also found a lot of interesting shops too...

Hot Sausage for our lunch~ hehe..Nice try!

Besides that, you must also not miss up one of the attraction in York!! That's the York Minster. When I first look at this place, I was shocked with chin dropped~ It is so beautiful and spectacular!!

The York Minster is largest Medieval Gothic cathedral north of the Alps and a treasure house of 800 years of stained glass.

Unfortunately, we'd no luck to visit the cathedral due to some events on that day....But I promise, I will visit York again someday!!!

Listen up, for those who love shopping damn much, you must not miss this!! "The Designer Outlet" Don't worry, I will briefly explain what is Designer Outlet...^^ You'll find over 120 famous name stores at York Designer Outlet, with designer savings up to 60% off every day of the year. That include Paul Smith, Timberland, Fred Perry, Ted Baker, HUGO BOSS and so forth..

After this, of course we would need to have dinner before we went back to Newcastle...And, we chose a chinese restaurant, the food are absolutely yummy!! We ended our trip with delicious chinese food...

That's all for our lovely trip~

Bye~
